Our Career Stretch Program is a unique hands-on learning experience that will equip you with to-the-moment skills that make you a strong candidate in the social media & influencer marketing field, a cut above with practical experience and on-the-job training.

It is the answer to what seems to be a burning desire to learn the trade of Social Media, Influencer Relations, & otherwise Digital Marketing… IRL! We get so much interest from industry professionals and students who want to be involved in some way with by Niche, crossing a wide spectrum of interest, availability, and backgrounds. We’ve worked with hundreds of volunteers and interns from the first day of by Niche’s existence (whether for the duration of Northern Vogue fashion show or for 6 months or a year). This program takes it a step further from one-off event volunteering and periodic involvement. For those who really want to learn the in’s and out’s of the industry and of by Niche in particular. For students, college professors say go get experience, traditional marketing agencies say “Why would we hire you, we don’t know you and you have no experience.”... Entre by Niche! In Career Stretch you get actual hands-on, on-the-job training while doing real, meaningful work for actual clients. For Industry professionals, it’s a chance to try your hand at new things, to have a creative outlet and to be empowered to do your best work for your brand and/or other brands you manage.

You will be part of a small team that collaborates to carry out the scope of work for the client. Each team consists of a Project Manager, Brand Manager, Support Team Member & a Career Stretch Team Member. We hope that in time you become adept at all of the various skills it takes to become an incremental player at by Niche and within the Social Media & Influencer Relations Brand Management Industry. We hire from Career Stretch because it tends to take several months for a team member to ease into our culture and absorb all there is to absorb then arrive in a place where they are comfortable with our systems and consistently adding value to our clients. Our processes/systems are specific and detailed and it can be a lot to take in all at once. So Career Stretch is like your dug-out period. Your prep, your onboarding.

Please note. This program is not for the faint of heart. It is serious business. We have fun but we do work hard and we are fast moving. Can’t promise compliment sandwiches or full sentences. Need you to be able to learn and retain information, to incorporate our processes & protocols as you become more comfortable with them, and to execute with excellence.

TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES, ROLES:

Content Management: managing the content library & consistently growing it with in-house created and user-generated content, assimilating into existing infrastructure
Grid Prep: editing content to be calendar-ready, creating the visual grid for approval, populating calendar with approved images, adding photocreds, & owned/promotional tags, hashtags
Graphic Design: Videos, Animation, Tech, GIFs, Stop Motion
Administration: Management of spreadsheets, databases, contacts
Email Marketing

Executive Assistance
Instagram Feed Management- publishing post from unum/planoly to Instagram, blasting it out to DMs, initial engagement
Influencer Relations- networking (digitally and in-person with) & brainstorming influencers, curating a tailored list for brands, coordinating with them, following up with them after visits, and maintaining relations, creating a summary for client
Instagram/Facebook Stories - styled adds to story (natural/organic + feed to story), branded stories to be turned into videos for Facebook feeds and potential Instagram feeds
Digital Engagement & Community Growth 
Facebook
: creating albums, fielding notifications, inviting engagers to like page, messages, check-ins, reviews, user-generated posts
Photoshoot support: concepting/formulating ideas, creating a moodboard & shotlist, sourcing & coordinating with vendors/models/props, on-site creative direction
Branding: Mining for inspiration on Pinterest/Insta, mining for repost material in user-generated posts, archiving old posts for a cohesive visual, creating brand guides

Client Networking & Sales
In-person/on-phone client relations, event attendance/networking & sales, research businesses that might be good to reach out to, research events, involvement in externally produced events on behalf of by Niche, influencer happy hours & support influencer events
Boosted Posts: navigating the backend of Ads Manager and implementing strategy to add dollars to posts
Impact Summary, Analytics, & Reporting: creating analytics summaries of the work we do for our clients. Doesn’t have to be complicated, but rundown of the highlights of our work. Growth experienced by client from our work.
Community Embetterment: Research & support charity events in the community, support philanthropic efforts digitally & in-person via by Niche. Attend and cover socials for charity events.
PR & Business Development: Strategize what we can do to build interest locally and nationally for by Niche - digitally and in-person.
Diversity Enhancement: Ideas on how to attract a wide range of clients, team members, and support the diversification of the industry & cultivate inclusion across our network and that of our clients.

ADDITIONAL NOTES/TIPS:
+ What sets by Niche apart is empathy. Brand empathy. Empathy for our clients. Empathy for one another. True empathy compels originality. As we come into a deeper understanding of a brand, we have a responsibility to reverberate that brand’s essence in everything we touch on their behalf digitally. We want to grow their brand as if it was our own. Own this portion of the brand’s business as if it truly was yours.

+ After empathy, one of the most important things in our work with clients is tapping into our intuition. Anticipate the client’s needs before they do. Whoever your client is, take a moment each day to think, what is on this client’s mind today? What is bothering them, what is keeping them up at night. What are they excited about? We want to make sure we’re one step ahead of them in the marketing department if at all possible.

+ Keep asking questions - of me and each other! ALL GOOD! And please as much as possible let's could keep edits and feedback conversations centralized in the team group chats that would be awesome as we are hoping for collective learning. So we can all grow together! Also helpful as figure out how to streamline the system a bit to avoid duplicative coaching in side chats. Many are asking the same questions and that’s good! 

+ Please accomplish tasks as they come up as quickly as possible. This is often an independent role. We like to see you grab an assignment, run with it, and turn it around quickly. Please hold yourself accountable for the tasks you’ve been assigned and take initiative to complete and submit.

+ Don’t be afraid of feedback or constructive criticism. Think of it as coaching and learning. That’s what this is all about. Dive on in! We like to see you go for it even if the first round needs some editing :)
